Perhaps the best place to enjoy the outdoors in Teaneck is along the Hackensack River Greenway.  This is the start of our 2006 membership drive and <B><U>we ask that you renew your membership with the Friends of the Hackensack River Greenway</U></B>.</div> <bR> <div> The Friends are the preeminent group of its kind in Teaneck.  We seek to support and encourage the development, maintenance and use of the Hackensack River Greenway through Teaneck.</div> <div>  </div> <div> This past year - <B><U>with your support</U></B> - we: </div> <bR> <div> Organized more than a dozen walks along the Greenway, and our annual Summer Solstice concert;</div> <div> Provided for special plantings along the Greenway;</div> <div> Enjoyed a very successful annual canoe trip on the river,</div> <div> Held our first artist's workshop -Painting from nature on the Greenway,</div> <div> Had a native plant identification walk and lecture led by Nancy Slowick from Greenbrook Sanctuary.</div> <div> Worked with scout groups to clean up along the greenway and with Master Gardeners to remove exotic invasive species.</div> <div> Hosted a presentation by the original designer of the Greenway, Michael Hakim.</div> <bR> <div> We are a volunteer organization made up of your friends and neighbors working together on behalf of Teaneck., and we rely entirely on the generosity of our membership to fund our important programs.</div> <bR> <div> <B>As a member:</B></div> <bR> <div> You will receive <B><U>notice of all of our programs</U></B>, including guided walks, concerts, boat trips and lectures held throughout the year.  </div> <bR> <div> You will be <B><U>supporting a unique, grassroots organization</U></B><B> </B>that is preserving our open space, protecting the environment, and promoting the continued expansion of a Greenway park along the Hackensack.</div> <bR> <div> Individual membership is $25 and a family membership is $40.
