 There is no charge for any of our events, unless specified.
 The pace is slow for walks to allow for pointing out the sights and for explanation and discussion. It is usually less than one mile per hour. The terrain is gentle, unless specifically mentioned. Most walks run between one and two hours, but you are free to leave at any time.
 If you have an organization that would like a special walk, send us an e-mail and we will do our best to accommodate you.
 Board meetings are open to our members. We meet at the Rodda Center on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00, unless otherwise specified. If you plan to attend, please E-mail the president at president@Teaneckgreenway.org.

Thursday, July 17, 7:00. Board meeting.
Sunday, July 20, 9:00 a.m., Indian Pond through FDU trail. Join Jordan Wouk (chair of the Hackensack River Greenway Advisory Board and first president of Friends of the Greenway) on a walk on the Greenway around Indian Pond, through the Andreas trail, and link up with the trail in FDU. Meet at the parking lot in Andreas Park near the tennis courts.
August
Saturday, August 2, 10:00 a.m., “The Trees of Terhune Park”. Jim Ilgenfritz (member of the Boards of the Friends of the Greenway and the Parks, Playgrounds, and Recreation Advisory Board; developer and head of Teaneck’s Arboritum) will lead a walk along the Terhune Park trail, identifying the diversity of trees found and discussing plans for their maintenance. Meet at the entrance sign at the southern end of Terhune Park at the foot of Hillcrest Street.
Thursday, August 14, 7:00 p.m., Board meeting.
September
Sunday, September 7, 10:00 a.m., Brett Park. Professor Marion McClary, Ph.D., Associate Director of Biological Sciences at FDU, will lead us on a walk along the Greenway in Brett Park, sharing his research on the distribution of living barnacles in the tidal Hackensack River. This walk will take place at low tide, and Dr. McClary intends to make incursions into the mud flats of the river to bring us specimens. Walkers will remain on the trail and will not be wading in the river. Meet at the Teaneck end of the old swing bridge in the northwest corner of the park.
Thursday, September 18, 7:00 p.m., Board Meeting.
Sunday, September 21, 11:00 a.m. Canoe trip along the Hackensack River going north from Teaneck. Meet at 10:30. Launching will be at 11:00. Canoes can be rented from the Hackensack Riverkeeper at $20 for members and $25 for non-members, or you can bring your own canoe or kayak. There will be a fee of $10 for non-paddlers. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Launch site is at Brett Park off Riverview Avenue. Call Norma Goetz at 201-836-6494 for further information and to reserve your space.

Sunday, October 5, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Walk the Windsor Trail with Wayne Thoen, hiker and naturalist. This walk goes from Brookstaver Park on Windsor Road, just north of Cedar Lane and across from the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps to the parking lot of Pathmark off New Bridge Road. We will make arrangements for a return drive back to your car. It is a rarely walked trail that few people in Teaneck know. Be prepared for a long hike, fabulous sights, and a lot of fun.
Sunday, October 12, 9:00 a.m. Join Kathy and Jordan Wouk for their annual long walk along the entire 3.5 miles of Teaneck’s Greenway along the Hackensack River. See the river in all its glory as you walk through parks, Farleigh Dickinson University, and residential neighborhoods. The walk will start at the southern end of Terhune Park at the beginning of the Greenway and end at the old swing bridge at Newbridge Landing which is at the end of the Greenway in Brett Park. If possible, try to have a car waiting for you at the end of the walk. If not, we will get you back to your car parked near the beginning of the walk.

Locations
1.  " Southern Entrance to Terhune Park." At the southern end of Terhune Park, on River Road, at the foot of Hillcrest Street, about 100 feet before the Bogota border. There is a Greenway entrance sign on the river side of River Road right at the entrance.
2. "Andreas Park parking lot." Near the tennis court in Andreas Park, off River Road. The entrance to the park is at the foot of Grenville Street, one block south of West Englewood Avenue.
3.  " Swing bridge in northwest corner of Brett Park." Driving north on River Road, Brett Park is the last park on your left. Riverview Avenue is the street at the end of the park. Where the road splits, bear to the left. Stop before you come the barriers blocking vehicular access to the swing bridge.
4.  " Pomander Walk near the river." Driving south on River Road, one block past Cedar Lane, turn right onto Pomander Walk. The starting point is at the end of the street on the left.
5.  Hackensack River County Park. Take Route 4 west from Teaneck. Just after the Mobil station turn right into Riverside Square Mall. Make your first right down the ramp. Continue as ramp curves left. At stop sign turn right and go to end. Turn left. Go to grayish brick wall. You will see a flag pole on the right. We will meet near the flag pole, at the observation deck.
6. South end of New Milford Greenway. Take River Road make a U-turn on New Bridge Road. After U-turn, pass light on River Road and continue west on New Bridge Road. Make right on Lynwood Ave (the last right before coming to the bridge), then the first left on Clinton Avenue.
